Sony VAIO® Overseas Service offers the frequent mid to longterm overseas traveler (or those who reside full- or part-time in one of the covered countries) extended warranty protection outside the standard warranty geographical coverage. Upon purchase of this optional Service with your new VAIO® configure-to-order (CTO) notebook, repair at no charge is provided during your stay in designated countries when purchased through SonyStyle (USA). The terms and conditions of the service are described in the document "More information on VAIO® Overseas Service". The term of the service is one year from the date of purchase of the VAIO® PC from Sony VAIO authorized distribution.
Designated countries where you can have your qualifying VAIO® (CTO) Notebook Product serviced are:
North America: Canada
Asia: Japan
Western Europe: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
This service is valid for one year from the date of purchase of the VAIO® (CTO) Notebook PC from SonyStyle (USA). At the conclusion of the covered period, your request will be handled in the designated country under its domestic repair service policy and conditions.
Only the qualifying VAIO® Notebook PC hardware is covered. Software, cables, batteries, peripherals (i.e. AC adaptor, port replicator, Docking station, Memory expansion card), and printed material are not covered under this service.
It will take in average 2 weeks from the time you first call Sony to request a repair. However, depending on the nature of problem, the time needed to repair your Product could be more than 2 weeks due to spare parts logistics.
