The idea shoehorning a parcel of Chris Rhea's musical output onto a single CD and declaring it to be a "best of" makes little sense. This British singer, songwriter, and guitarist has been crafting some great pop music for around three decades now, and he has not been stingy about releasing new titles or hesitant to rework and rerecord songs along the way.

Still, trying to pick and choose from his many recordings is a bit daunting and the notion of a "best of" should serve more as an appetizer rather than a full course in this case. There are some songs I wish were included here, and others I wish were not included.
