Born in the Year of the Boa
A person asked another, “Hey, old chap! When were you born?”
The man replied, “ I was born in the year of the boa. I’m fifty-five now.”
“Everybody knows there’s a snake in the cycle of 12 year named after animals, but none has ever heard of the year of the boa. Maybe you’re wrong in saying so.”
“My boy, what you say is quite true, and what I said isn’t untrue, either,” said the man. “I was born in the year of the snake for sure. But if you think about it, a snake which has lived to be fifty-five must grow to be as big as a boa even if it was a little a snake in it’s early years.”
